At first we were just looking for a hotel for the four of us

We are Michal and Veronika. We have a three-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son, and they have come on holiday with us since they were tiny. When they were very small, before every trip we checked whether a cot would fit next to our bed and whether the restaurant had a high chair. Today we look more at the pools. In the photos we look for where our little one can touch the bottom and what her older brother will enjoy there.

Once we were looking for a hotel with a water park, no more than three hours' drive from home. We looked at the pools on the hotel's website, searched the reviews for other parents' experiences and finally opened a map to see how long the drive would actually be. Then we started all over again with the next hotel.

Another time we wanted to take the children to Zlín Zoo. This time we knew exactly where our day out would be. We wanted to stay as close to the zoo as possible and have a swim with the children when we got back. We quickly found accommodation near the zoo on the map. Finding out which of them also had a pool meant opening one website after another.

We missed a site where we could choose the zoo, tick "pool" and straight away see where nearby we could stay with children. So we started Tobogana.

Today on Tobogana you can search by region or by the specific attraction you want to visit on a day out. When you enter your children's ages, you see what each place to stay offers for them. And when you add where you are setting off from, you also see the travel time by car.

Today Tobogana is the largest guide in Central Europe that rates hotels by their facilities for children. It lists over 2,200 hotels and guesthouses in Slovakia, Czechia, Poland and Hungary.

If you are planning a trip and can't find an answer to something that matters to your family, write to us at data@tobogana.com. We are also glad to hear from you if something about a place to stay isn't right.
